Last week, headlines focused on McDonald’s plans to introduce a competitive fried chicken sandwich, as well as its upcoming McPlant lineup (I’ll have more on that in Sunday’s newsletter).
But it also talked a lot about technology, specifically the kind that is going to transform its drive-thrus.
And McDonald’s wasn’t alone: Chipotle also said that it’s going to introduce restaurants that have no lines; you order ahead, grab your food and leave.
This week on the CulinaryWoman Podcast, we look at the incredible shrinking restaurant. There are all kinds of implications, not just for the speed with which we may get our meals, but for communities, too.
You’ll hear me talk about how I didn’t get hired at McDonald’s, and what the changing nature of fast food jobs might meet for teens and for adults, too.
