Meet Alma Martin Gill. She’s an advice expert whose Ask Alma column is syndicated in Black media across the country. She’s also a valued administrative assistant on the national desk at the Washington Post.
Alma is a thrifty cook, never more than during the COVID-19 pandemic. She can go shopping at the Fort Meade commissary in Maryland, which she’s entitled to use because her husband is a retired U.S. Army veteran, and get a week’s worth of meals for $100.
Alma has been my friend since our USA TODAY days, and I’m proud to introduce you to her in the first issue of the CulinaryWoman Newsletter.
Alma will share her tips on transforming a single grocery store trip into interesting dinners. And, you’ll hear about her family, especially her beloved granddaughter Ava, who you can see in the photo above.
There will be lots more in the newsletter, and we look forward to bringing it to you.
If you haven’t subscribed, you can do so now. And see you on Sunday!
So very proud of you!
