Sisters Billie and Helen Bitzas are among the most popular Greek food bloggers in North America.
Together, they offer delicious recipes, clear instructions and beautiful photos on their site Mia Kouppa, acting as ambassadors for their native cuisine.
But they aren’t writing from beside the Mediterranean, although in normal times, they visit regularly. They are based in Montreal, where their mother Dimitra originally moved by herself in 1960.
Like so many Greek immigrants after WW2, she was looking for opportunity and an easier life. Now, her daughters are helping readers enjoy Greek food and culture, from the city that welcomed their parents.
This week, we’ll talk to Billie and Helen about growing up trilingual in one of the world’s most wonderful cities, hear about the Greek dishes that are easiest to start with, and the herb you should have in your kitchen. You’ll find out the pastries that made them feel victorious when they conquered them.
You’ll also meet the CulinaryWoman of the Week, and learn about a food-focused children’s book, plus more.
Feel free to invite your friends and networks to sign up. Looking forward to seeing you this Sunday! Ya’soo!
