McDonald’s test sandwich goes against every trend

Before the pandemic, the culinary world was intrigued by the possibilities of plant-based meat. When McDonald’s tested the McPlant sandwich in Ontario, I took a mini-road trip to track one down.

I had a mixed reaction to McPlant, and customers must have, too. Although McDonald’s to put more emphasis on non-beef options, McPlant never joined its lineup.
