Thank you to everyone who works in culinary - diners, too

As I mentioned last week, there is no newsletter today. But I would like to express my thanks to everyone in the culinary world. I hope you’re reading this on a holiday break after getting through yet another challenging summer.

Customers, you receive a shout out, too, for being patient about all the changes you’ve endured the past couple of years. You’ve been flexible, kind and generous tippers. You flock to brand new places and get them off to a good start.

To all our CulinaryWoman readers, enjoy the rest of this holiday weekend. I’m taking it easy because I got the updated Bivalent Covid vaccine booster on Saturday. As soon as I heard it was available, I jumped on the CVS website and snagged an appointment.

So far, my only side effect is a slightly sore arm - not as bad as other times - and I got a solid night’s sleep which I definitely needed. This vaccine is available to everyone over 18, and judging by demand in New Orleans and elsewhere, people are showing up for it. I was able to get a flu shot at the same time.
