Many people learn to bake from their grandmothers or their mothers. But others don’t. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard people say, “I’m a cook, not a baker,” and simply can’t take on the challenge of baking.
Joy Wilson has a solution for you. Her new book, The Life-Changing Magic of Baking, illustrates the principles of baking, step by step.
It’s supposed to be a children’s book, for kids age six to 12, and it would be a great gift for young ones. But I learned things from it, too.
In case you aren’t familiar with Joy, she has been sharing recipes on her blog, Joy The Baker, since 2008. She’s a three-time cookbook author, editor in chief of Joy The Baker Magazine, and calls herself a “taste buds baker and home cook.”
