Nearly everyone made changes in the way they shop, cook and dine during the early part of the pandemic. Many thought those steps would only be temporary.

It turns out that they were not, according to a comprehensive new study from Alix Partners, the global consulting firm.

The study shows that consumers have made permanent changes in their buying habits, especially high-income shoppers who are among the most valuable to restaurants, food purveyors and groceries.
