Meet Our Fabulous CulinaryWomen Of The Week
One of my favorite features on CulinaryWoman has been naming the CulinaryWoman of the Week.
There are so many fantastic women in the food world, and it’s been my pleasure to give them some individual recognition.
Depending on when you began subscribing to the newsletter, and your interest in dining, you may know all these people, but some of them may be new to you.
I’m including links to the newsletter in which they were featured, so feel free to go back and read my items on each of them.
Here’s a list of who’s been honored so far. There are many more to come!
Julia Evans Reed — journalist, cookbook author, boutique owner, remembered across the South.
Louisa Chu — chef, podcaster, a star of the Chicago Tribune’s food coverage.
Molly Stevens — cookbook author, teacher, translator of food concepts for everyday cooks.
Carla Hall - chef, author, TV star who has worked so hard for the National Museum of African American History.
Nigella Lawson - her cookbooks and TV programs are imaginative, fun and inspiring.
Bee Wilson - thoughtful British writer with a 50,000 foot view of food world trends.
Joanne Chang - Boston chef and businesswoman whose bakeries set the standard for sticky buns.
Ina Pinkney - Chicago’s beloved culinary godmother and a font of generous advice.
Patricia Wells - my cooking teacher, author, and legendary expert on Paris restaurants.
Dorie Greenspan - fairy godmother, amanuensis to Julia Child, and now, a grandmother!
Is there a CulinaryWoman who inspired you? Let us meet her.
See you Sunday.
