I was looking through my iTunes library last week, and came upon a series of audio recordings from the Charlie Rose show on PBS. Charlie lost his positions at CBS and PBS in 2017 due to some serious #MeToo allegations, and disappeared from public view for a long time.
He resurfaced this year, hosting a program on his website, and while I’m not about to recommend that you watch it, he certainly is a skilled interviewer. I was a guest on his show before anyone knew the circumstances faced by women on his staff.
One of the interviews in my library was a tribute to Nora Ephron, the writer and filmmaker who was a frequent guest on his program. It’s hard to believe that Nora died 10 years ago in June. She is warmly remembered for her wit, talent and perennially popular romantic comedies such as Julie & Julia, You’ve Got Mail and Sleepless in Seattle.
