I grew up in an airline family, but nevertheless, we also took road trips. Some were short hops to Grand Rapids and Chicago, to see my mother’s family. There were constant visits to Canada, including Windsor, Ontario, Toronto and Montreal, and longer jaunts across Ontario and upstate New York to Connecticut and Massachusetts, home to my father’s side.
I picked up the road trip habit as soon as I had my own wheels. My dear departed red Prius journeyed across America, north to south, east to west. And this week, I got behind the wheel of my “new” 2015 Prius to explore northern Michigan territory for the first time in seven years.
I have one motto for these trips: stop the car.
