I realized while I was in Nashville last week that a lot of people might get flummoxed by restaurant menus. How can you get the best sense of a restaurant where you’ve never eaten?

I am always torn between wanting to try the restaurant’s specialty and choosing something off the beaten path. I put together some tips that I hope will be useful.
