The art of the lagniappe

Last Thursday, all the stars aligned - at least, a New Orleans version of it. I attended the opening of the Southern Food and Beverage Research Center, which you read about yesterday. I had lunch, came home, and realized I needed to run an errand.

It was a perfect, low-humidity late afternoon, and I decided to see if there was a line at Hansen’s. It is the best-known of the numerous snoball stands in New Orleans. If you watched the New Orleans episode of Street Food on Netflix, you saw Ashley Hansen, the latest generation of her family to run the little place on Tchoupitoulas Street.
