Happy Thanksgiving to our Canadian friends! I actually think you all have it right when it comes to a fall holiday.
American Thanksgiving takes place too close to Christmas. You’ve hardly digested everything when another round of eating begins. Canada spaces its holidays out nicely leaving lots of time to indulge and get some exercise in between.
In honor of Canada, this week’s Red Beans kicks off with the new season of the Great Canadian Baking Show, aka CBC Baking (CBC stands for Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, not complete blood count).
Great news: this year, I have been able to find new episodes on YouTube about 24 hours after they air in Canada, so try that if you live somewhere beyond the U.S.-Canadian border. Daily Motion is another option.
All the judges and hosts are back with a new group of bakers who immediately turned out dazzling entries. I think the Canadian show is kilometers ahead of the British original in creativity and diversity.
