In 2019, I spotted an article in Saveur magazine about a new coffee house in Dearborn, Mich. I hadn’t heard anything about Qahwah House locally, and I was intrigued by the idea of coffee that was sourced in Yemen, so I went to check it out.
Four years later, coffee houses serving Yemeni beans have popped up all over the Detroit area, and they are beginning to flourish across America.
Qahwah just opened a new outlet in Sugarland, Texas, in addition to several shops in its hometown, a coffee house in Brooklyn and one in suburban Chicago.
