Driving home on St. Charles Avenue one night last week, I glanced in the window of one mansion and spotted a lighted Christmas tree. It seemed awfully early, but with Halloween over, some people are simply ready for the next round of festivities.
Actually, the holidays are coming up awfully fast. Thanksgiving is next week and peoples’ calendars are swiftly filing up for December. Beyond that, Mardi Gras is now less than 100 days away.
All that makes me think of the kindest things we can do for ourselves and our friends in the restaurant and food worlds this season.
