As I mentioned on Sunday, the Great British Bake Off returns to the airwaves next week - on Tuesdays in Britain, on Fridays via Netflix elsewhere.
I’m struck by how much people love this show, whether the old BBC version with Mary Berry, or the updated one with Prue Leith and crew.
For the past few years, I’ve tweeted my Bake Off impressions once the episodes air in the U.S. Now, I’ll be sharing them with CulinaryWoman Newsletter readers on the Sundays after each new show appears.
The first review will post on Sept. 26, and every subsequent Sunday as the season progresses. These won’t be full recaps, but my takeaways on what jumped out at me from the show. (You’ll still get other newsletter features, not to worry.)
I’d love to compare your impressions with mine. There will be spoilers, but I will put the star baker and departing baker at the end of each post, so you can avoid them if need be.
I’m also going to share links and resources connected to the show. To start you off, you can read up on the new bakers here.
Will there be soggy bottoms - and Hollywood handshakes? Will Prue’s glasses match her outfit? How odd will Matt and Noel be?
I know how much people love the show, and it’s going to be fun to watch it together.
This will be fun!
