Before today’s update, I wanted you to know that you can now read CulinaryWoman in the new Substack app for iPhone.
With the app, you’ll have a dedicated Inbox for my Substack and any others you subscribe to. New posts will never get lost in your email filters, or stuck in spam. Longer posts will never cut-off by your email app. Comments and rich media will all work seamlessly. Overall, it’s a big upgrade to the reading experience.
The Substack app is currently available for iOS. If you don’t have an Apple device, you can join the Android waitlist here.
Now for why I’m getting in touch.
In Sunday’s newsletter, I shared how bakers and chefs and food places around the world are stepping up to help Ukraine.
I’ve been doing so through my support for World Central Kitchen. Now, I want to do more.
Until there is a ceasefire or a resolution to the conflict, I will make a donation to WCK for every copy of Satisfaction Guaranteed that I sell through my Bookshop.org page.
Bookshop sends the orders it receives yo participating independent booksellers. Authors have dashboards to show how their books are doing, and I get a small commission on every sale.
I know WCK can put donations to good use. So, if you are planning to buy my book in the near future, and you want to support WCK, please do it through that link. Feel free to share it with friends and colleagues.
Alternatively, if you prefer to donate directly to WCK, or to another organization helping Ukraine, I encourage you do so.
I fear things are only going to get worse the longer this goes on. More than 2 million people have left Ukraine so far. I hope they can return home someday, but for now, let’s help the best we can.
Thank you. Slava Ukraini.
I'm also a fan of WCK. It's so kind and generous of you to support them, Micki. They do such good and necessary work.
