The Best Things I Ate And Drank In 2023, Part One
Too many yummy things to fit into a single post
I started the year in New Orleans, where you don’t need a jacket on New Year’s Day. I ended the year in Ann Arbor, where my puffy coat is already hanging by my front door.
In between, I ate, although this year was slightly more strategic. Because of a back injury I suffered in fall, 2022, I decided I wanted to shed some pounds and get more fit. I accomplished both, although not to the extent I hoped. I’ll keep going in 2024. It’s a marathon, not a sprint.
In the course of 2023, I ate delicious things, trying to make healthy choices versus selecting on impulse, as I did when I first arrived in Nola in 2022.
I indulged, sure, but I offset treats with lots of fruit and vegetables. Here is part one of the dishes and drinks that stood out for me, taking us from New Orleans to Chicago, where I stopped on my way back home.
You’ll get part two on Thursday as a pre-Christmas present.
