Given our discussion yesterday about bagels in New York City, I was thinking about the different places I visit and the first thing I like to eat when I get there.

Often, I take an early flight (hello, Southwest!) and skip breakfast so that I can get to the airport on time. When I arrive at my destination, I’m more than happy to eat, even if it is still before noon.

For years, before I moved to New Orleans, I’d land in mid-morning, collect my rental car and head for the branch of Bevi Seafood on Airline Highway, a big surface street that leads toward town.
